Everything I wanted inside a little light camcorder. The automatic stabilizer feature is great. All features and functions work as advertized. Options like wide and tele lenses work excellent. It’s handy to have an additional battery. Definitely worth the price. Still photo capability is very great. There’s a low res still capability in the video mode too.

I love this digital camera! I used this digital camera for a year now and in my opinion this is the greatest Sony digital camera for loved ones use. It fits very easily in a pocket, I just carry it inside a ziplock bag to avoid getting it dirty.

However I have the same problem numerous other people had with other models of Canon camcorder motor noise. Honestly, it isn’t very loud itself about the same as in other cameras, but Optura’s michrophones tend to record the engine noise much louder than other cameras. You can hear annoying high-pitch sound all the time throughout playing back.

So far I like the camera. Very simple to run, and serves its purpose. I wish the lense cover was automatic, but not a large deal. I do not care for that software program that comes with the camera, at all. But with that in mind I did not purchase the camera for the software. I discovered the best way to, edit, manage or upload things to the internet is with a seperate video editing software that’s realativly inexpensive.

I also looked at the new Sony handycams, but I was not impressed by their image stabilization. The JVC camcorders were much better. The controls are pretty easy to run.

This is my first camcorder. I bought it to film HD vids for the grandparents of my newborn very first son. For the reviews that say the color or brightness or white balance is off, those users require to visit the Sanyo site and click about the Let’s Shoot Much more Movies tab/picture. There are dozens of tips, hints and video examples.

I have not yet tried it on HDMI. No tranfer problems of files to my pc or edit problems as a friend of mine advised me he had with an Optimum unit he had purchased last summer. The camera function, however,is slow to focus and has shutter lag but images are satisfactory. Sanyo ought to have included a handstrap, but I had one around that I am utilizing.
